What is the Spirit of Community Campaign, and what does it support?
The Spirit of Community Campaign is Holyoke Catholic High School's annual giving program and the only other significant source of income after tuition. It was established to provide a steady stream of income to the school. The campaign runs concurrently with the school's fiscal year, July 1 through June 30. It is the most important source of unrestricted funds available to the school. Gifts to the campaign are used immediately to meet the school's most pressing needs and opportunities. This includes:

Does one single gift make a difference?
Yes. Your gift, when combined with hundreds of others from alumni and friends, has a big impact on the students and the school. Your gifts provide the necessary funds to enrich the Holyoke Catholic advantage ~ mind, body and spirit. We invite you to make a smart investment and help the current generation of students benefit from a HCHS education.

Doesn't tuition cover the cost of a Holyoke Catholic education?
No. In fact, tuition only covers only a portion of the full-cost of educating each HCHS student. This means that even those families who pay full tuition are not paying the full cost. Gifts to the Spirit of Community Campaign help fill the gap.

Can I make a gift in memory or in honor of someone?
Tribute and/or memorial gifts are a wonderful way to remember someone who has had a special connection to the school. It's a great way to remember your favorite faculty member, a mentor, a coach or a friend. When you make your gift indicate whom the gift honors and where you would like us to mail a note notifying the person about the tribute gift. No gift amount will be mentioned.

Who can take advantage of matching gifts?
If you or your spouse work for a matching gift company, you may be able to double or even triple the impact of your gift to HCHS. Many companies will match an employee's, retirees and spouses gift. Does yours? Check with your Human Resources Department.

If your gift is matched, you receive recognition for the amount of the match. For example, a $500 personal gift matched 1:1 by your company would qualify you as a member of the Father John J. Mara Society. Be sure to take advantage of your company's generosity. It benefits HCHS and you!

Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes. Gifts to Holyoke Catholic are tax-deductible. The school is a non-profit, tax-exempt corporation recognized under Section 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
